A PATTERN 1827 ARTILLERY OFFICER'S DRESS SWORD FROM THE CHESHIRE & CARNARVON ARTILLERY VOLUNTEERS, late 19th Century, with 30 3/4 in. single-edged blade fullered on each side, etched with scroll-work and artillery symbols, plus unit details to one side and monogram ricasso marked 'HOBSON / & SONS / LITTLE / WIND MILL St / LONDON', with proved plug over, 3-barred guard, wire-bound fish-skin grip, together with its steel scabbard. worn, all metalwork tarnished, scabbard dented, losses to grip wire, this unit existed from 1880 to 1902, 39 in. overall
