dated 1879, with 20 1/2in. sighted barrel with crisp proof-marks, slab-sided receiver marked 'S.X' (for strengthened extractor) crown over 'V. R. / ENFIELD / 1879' over lock viewer's mark over 'I. C. 1. / 2', small cocking indicator, falling block action, walnut stock, butt with Birmingham 1894 Broad Arrow and WD' roundel with '2963 / 1' over, 'sold out of service' marks, complete with sling swivel and cleaning rod, reproduction sight cover and replacement screws, parts with ordnance markings, no apparent saw-cut at breech and strong rifling, 37 1/2in. overall
