for 2018, 25in. nitro barrels with matt sight rib, two folding leaf sights marked 50 and 100, ramp-mounted blade fore-sight, the breech end with quickly-detachable telescopic sight mount bases, the over barrel engraved 'PURDEY LONDON' and with the calibre designation, scroll-back action with short side bolsters, hold-open toplever, automatic safety, non-selective single trigger, triggerplate mounted trigger assembly release, bold scrolling acanthus scrollwork with ornate bordering, all on a finely matted background, the fore-end iron and steel pistolgrip-cap engraved en suite, 15 1/2in. pistolgrip stock with cheekpiece and including 7/8in. recoil pad, weight 8lb. 13oz., in a Negrini universal case
Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed this rifle to be the largest calibre of just three examples made of a Sporter double rifle, the other two being in 7x57 calibre and 8x68 calibre
