circa 1800, with round iron tapering 12in. barrel, the forward right side with a light sword-strike extending into the fore-end wood, the top with further repaired sword-strike, Tower proofs and moulded band at breech, solid squared top-tang, flat borderline engraved lock signed 'TOWER' to the tail and with a crown over 'G.R' device below the pan, ring necked cock, walnut full-stock with carved apron around the top-tang with Board of Ordnance stamp, heavy short-eared brass butt-cap marked '-9-' to the right side and engraved with an initial 'P' to the left, flat brass side-plate with long iron belt-hook, moulded brass trigger guard, brass thimbles and replacement ramrod
