A RARE EARLY .22 DAYSTATE HUNTSMAN PRE-CHARGED PNEUMATIC AIR-RIFLE, serial no 1-21,
circa 1978, with blued 21in. barrel threaded for a sound moderator (not included), open sights, blued machined receiver with twist and pull bolt, plain beech half-stock and bright air-reservoir with brass end-cap and push-through safety
Provenance: Designed in conjunction with Joe Wilkins, this early Huntsman model serves to prove what a cottage industry Daystate was when it was young. The barrel came from old BSA rimfire stock, the sights and woodwork were from Milbro Diana air-rifles, the trigger guard from Weihrauch with the remaining parts being made by local suppliers. This particular rifle was produced as HH 1-33, a high powered version but was subsequently re-manufactured into 1-21 for sale on the UK market. It is sold as a collector's item and not recommended for serious use. It is featured in the rare publication 'Daystate, Celebrating 40 Years' by Tony Belas & Gareth Egarr
