circa 1810, with round 2 3/4in. re-blued barrel, flat sighting plane marked 'MANCHESTER', bead fore-sight, twin gold bands and gold-lined touch-hole at breech, engraved top-tang, flat lock with moulded bevel-edge and stepped tail, sliding safe behind the swan-necked cock, 'STYAN' signature in script below the rain-proof pan (possibly refreshed), roller frizzen-spring, walnut full-stock with finely chequered bag-shaped butt, white-metal butt-cap, guarded trigger and brass mounted ebony ramrod
