circa 1840, with multi-groove rifled 7 1/2in. barrels, the flat sighting plane signed 'PRITCHETT & SON, LONDON', bead fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight, borderline and scroll engraved radiused boxlock action with external asymmetric hammers, sliding safes behind both hammers, spring-steel belt hook to left side of action body, finely chequered walnut grip swelling at the pommel and with engraved and moulded iron butt-cap with central trap, guarded double triggers and captive under-barrel ramrod retained by a spring-clip, strong traces of finish to action, complete with its maker's oak storage case lined and compartmented in green baize, original parchment Pritchett trade label inside lid and including a bag-shaped flask, oil bottle and lidded compartments for a mould, nipple-key, balls and cap-tin
