MARTINI-ACTION SPORTING RIFLE, serial no. 015225, circa 1920, 28in. lined nitro barrel, file-cut solid matt rib, express sight with five folding leaves marked from '100' to '500' yards, dove-tailed bead fore-sight, the breech-end engraved 'W.W. GREENER. 68 HAYMARKET. LONDON.' and 'AMMUNITION LONG RIFLE', manual side safety patent no. 26147, rear sight removed, border engraving, the makers name in a scrolling banner, retaining very slight traces of colour-hardening and finish, figured walnut buttstock, 13 1/2in. pull including buttplate, sling eyes, splinter fore-end with horn finial, weight 7lb. 13oz.
