circa 1912, 30in. nitro damascus barrels, the rib engraved 'CHARLES LANCASTER. 11 PANTON ST. HAYMARKET. LONDON.' and gold-inlaid '2' with some acanthus scroll detailing at the breech end, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 1/2 choke, pitted, the action with carved fences, striker discs, toplever gold-inlaid '1', automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, H.A.A. Thorn patent 'Detachable Solid Bar Lock' sidelocks, patent no. 6413 of 14th March 1911, best bold acanthus scroll engraving, the left sideplate with lock patent details around rear screw, retaining very slight traces of original colour-hardening and finish,14in. stock, fore-end with grip-catch release lever gold-inlaid '1' and engraved '2. PIECE EJECTOR.' on the iron, weight 6lb. 9oz., in a Guardian leather case
