A QUALITY JAMES DIXON & SONS SADDLE FLASK, dates between 1879-1890, rigid brown leather case complete with strap, drainage hole in base, brass fittings, containing a conical glass flask with plated twist-lock hinged stopper with the collar stamped 'JD&S' to one side and the 'trumpet and banner in shield' trademark opposite, signs of light wear only with no chips in the glass and stitching solid, this trademark was used between 1879 and 1890 only; these were produced in different sizes, this being one of the larger, the flask 10 in. length, the case 10 1/2 in. with 2 1/2 in. diameter cap
