A RARE BLACK LEATHER MILITARY HORSE FEED BUCKET, ESSEX IMPERIAL YEOMANRY? circa 1900, hand-painted coat-of-arms to the front with "COUNTY OF ESSEX" in a ribbon banner below, base stamped with a Broad Arrow plus boxed 'NORRIS / Product' and 'MADE IN ENGLAND' marks (SE Norris & Co Ltd, tanners and manufacturers of leather items from circa 1870 to 1980, based in Dagenham, Essex, and were granted several military contracts through to the mid 20th Century, once this source of revenue ended, the company went into decline; although from the 1950s it attempted convert its existing military patterns for civilian use, this did not prove successful and the company ceased trading in the early 1980s), leather supple, worn with some loss to stitching and rubbing to the crest
