for 1970, 28in. nitro chopperlump barrels, the rib engraved '2' and 'J. PURDEY & SONS. AUDLEY HOUSE. SOUTH AUDLEY STREET. LONDON. ENGLAND.', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke, toplever engraved '2', removable striker discs, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, cocking-indicators, acanthus scroll engraving with floral bouquets, the underside with 'J. PURDEY & SONS. LONDON. ENGLAND' in an oval, retaining much original colour-hardening and finish, 15 3/8in. stock, weight 6lb. 10oz.
