circa 1853, with blued octagonal 6 1/2in. barrel (some finish loss at muzzle), scroll engraving at barrel throat and engraved band at muzzle, dove-tailed bead fore-sight and standing notch rear-sight, the solid top-strap signed 'DEANE ADAMS & DEANE, 30 KING WILLIAM ST'T LONDON BRIDGE', borderline and leading edge band engraved plain five-shot cylinder (traces of colour), borderline and scroll engraved frame, self-cocking mechanism with spurless hammer, chequered walnut one-piece grip with moulded and engraved butt-cap, guarded trigger and no provision for rammer, in its oak storage-case relined in antiquity in pale green baize and including a Dixon bag-shaped flask, Adams patent mould, mahogany loading rod, wad-punch and nipple-key, all period with the revolver
