NORTH PATENTED JUNE 17 1856, JANUARY 18 1859, May 15 1860' (some words faint), off-set central hammer, plain reciprocating cylinder with ratchet indexing, heavy iron frame with side-plate, smooth gumwood grips, the left with martial cartouche, oversized trigger-guard with single action trigger-blade and additional ring cocking trigger and hinged under-barrel rammer, slight traces of finish
