LONDON.', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. in both, likely shortened, right wall at 19, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, gold-inlaid cocking-indicators, best 'Royal' scroll engraving, the underside with 'ROYAL HAMMERLESS EJECTOR' within an elaborate cartouche, 15in. stock including 3/4in. leather-covered recoil pad, weight 6lb. 9oz., in its makers leather case
Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that this gun was completed as No.2 of a pair for Major (later Lt. Col.) C.L. Bates of Hexham, in 1903.
