A .577 PERCUSSION SPORTING CARBINE SIGNED G.H. DAW, serial no. 3953, with cavity mould,
circa 1855, with round four-grooved rifled 24in. barrel possibly for 'Jacob's' winged bullet, the top near breech signed 'GEORGE H. DAW' and '57 THREADNEEDLE ST. LONDON' (lightly obscured by fine shallow pitting), dovetailed blade fore-sight, small elevating ladder rear-sight, borderline engraved breech-block and top-tang, borderline engraved bar-action lock signed 'G.H. DAW', en-suite hammer, walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist with the serial number stamped into the wood, borderline engraved iron furniture and brass tipped ebony ramrod, together with a period solid single cavity mould signed 'G.H. DAW'S IMPROVED MOULD' and 'G24' (probably the bore)
