A SCARCE .21 POPE BROS. USA AIR PISTOL, serial no. 4956, in a later carton with wire stock,
the so-called 'Rifle-Pistol' model form circa 1877, with pull-forwards smooth-bore 11in. nickel-plated brass barrel, bead fore-sight, notch rear-sight to the receiver, small air-chamber with traces of nickel finish, blued barrel-mount, the end-cap marked 'POPE BROS USA' across the centre and 'CANADA MAR. 23 '75, BELGIUM OCT. 21/74' around an inner circle and 'PATD. JUNE 6, DEC 5, 71, NOV. 17 '74. ENGLAND JULY 1, FRANCE OCT. 20' around the outer circumference, nickel-plated birdshead grip with aperture for a wire shoulder-stock (reproduction included), blued spur-trigger, traces of original finish remaining and in a later dedicated card carton with a number of period felt-based slugs
