AN EARLY 17th CENTURY CUP-HILT RAPIER,
possibly English circa 1630, with plain 37 1/4in. blade of flattened-diamond cross-section, pierced and carved cup-hilt with integral cross-guard with forward curled quillions, integral 'D' shaped moulded knucklebow with curved sidebars co-joining the cup, moulded bulbous pommel and shrunken wood grip with leather covering and spiral for an absent binding
