Product Details

AN UNUSUAL JAPANESE COPY OF A PRE-WAR .177 DIANA 'MASTER DIANA DELUXE' BREAK-BARREL AIR RIFLE SIGNED OSAKA, serial no. 2145,
date coded for 1963, with blued 19 1/4in. barrel, dove-tailed fore-sight and elevating notch rear-sight of pre-war form, the left side of breech stamped 'OSAKA' over 'M.S.K. 2145', plain blued air-chamber stamped at rear 'MASTER DIANA DELUXE' below a trademark of a spread eagle above a crown with the words 'TRADE MARK' above, plain single pin trigger unit, walnut saw-handled semi pistol-grip butt-stock with chequered panels, plain iron heel-plate, guarded straw-coloured trigger with adjuster to front of guard and no provision for fore-end, some light frosting over the factory blued finish and light marks to butt

Provenance: After the end of World War II, the Japanese were well known for copying all sorts of western commodities from cameras to motorcycles and airguns did not escape their attention. Most designs encountered mimicked designs by BSA, with Cadet and Meteor lookalikes known and despite this rifle being branded as a 'Diana', it bears many similarities to the pre-war break-barrel BSA
