circa 1894, 30in. nitro reproved barrels (originally back powder only), the rib engraved 'Jno. Rigby & Co. 72 St. James's Street. London AND AT Dublin' in gothic script, the breech end with bold scroll engraving and gold-inlaid '1', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. and 1/4 choke, treble-grip action incorporating J. Rigby and T. Bissell patent rising third bite, patent no. 1141 of 1879, use number 626, action number 2404, removable striker discs lettered 'L' and 'R', carved leaf fences, slender toplever, the standing breech gold-inlaid '1' in an oval, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, dipped-edge lockplates, Robertson / Boss 1894 improved patent single trigger, best bold border and acanthus scroll engraving, the triggerplate with 'BOSS'S PATENT No. 22894', 15in. well-figured semi-pistolgrip stock including 1 1/4in. wooden extension, fore-end with grip-catch release lever engraved 'RIGBY'S PATENT', weight 7lb.
