circa 1902, 29 3/4in. nitro reproved barrels, the rib engraved 'F. BEESLEY (FROM PURDEY'S) 2. ST. JAMES'S STREET. LONDON. S.W.', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke, automatic safety with inlaid 'SAFE' detail, bold border and acanthus scroll engraving, 14 3/4in. stock including buttplate, weight 6lb. 10oz., in its leather case
Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that the gun was completed circa 1902 and that it was sold to a Mr W.L. Ward in 1905 for £38.00
