circa 1810, with rebrowned octagonal 30 1/8in. twist barrel, the top-flat with inlet damascus panel signed in script 'R. FENTON LONDON' and cut alongside with a dove-tail rail, dove-tailed fore-sight also cut alongside with a rail, original dove-tail for rear-sight blanked off and filled in antiquity, re-coloured breech-block with inlaid platinum line and renewed poincon signed 'FENTON LONDON', border and trophy engraved top-tang, the top of wrist with carved mount base for an adjustable peep-sight (included), border and trophy engraved lock with bolted safe behind the cock, rainproof pan with drains and re-faced roller frizzen, figured walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist and with raised cheek-piece, disguised push-button in the faceted heel-plate spur to open the patchbox, the latter engraved with a border and 'JUDGE NOT' surmounting a rampant gryphon above a wreath and the initials 'J.G.', engraved square-backed trigger guard bow with raised spur to lower tang, single set trigger, white metal barrel-key escutcheons and fore-end tip, turned ramrod thimbles and bayonet lug below the barrel for a sporting bayonet (absent), with its original brass mounted ramrod
