cut down to pocket size, with octagonal 4in. barrel, small dove-tailed replacement fore-sight, scroll engraving to barrel throat and Belgian proofs, unsigned top-strap with notch rear-sight, plain five-shot cylinder, borderline and scroll engraved frame with contrasting blued screws and marked variously 'P.F.' below a crown in an oval, 'ADAMS 1851 PATENT' and 'ADAM'S PATENT' along with the serial number, self-cocking action with spurless hammer, shortened chequered walnut grip, no provision for rammer, mostly a period refinish and in a leather full-flap belt-holster of service type (worn)
