APRIL 12TH 1859', the body of the lock marked 'C. SHARPS PAT. OCT. 5TH 1852', straight hand walnut butt-stock with faint martial cartouches at head, iron patchbox, iron heel-plate, under-lever opening with sliding lock to tang and amateurly numbered '70.27.39', walnut splinter fore-end and single iron barrel-band with spring-clip retainer, the whole refinished and recoloured, saddle bar removed
