date coded for February 1934 and marked in Japanese characters '14th year Style', with round 4 1/2in. sighted barrel, blued receiver with knurled cocking-piece to rear of bolt, safety on the left-hand side, large 'Manchurian Campaign' trigger-guard, grooved wood grips (probable working replacements), alloy based magazine, magazine tensioning spring from front-strap absent, fair amount of original finish with some light pitting to top of receiver
