numbered 98585, dating to October 1970, with 34in. nickelled single-edged blade etched on both sides with foliate shamrock, thistle and rose designs, with Royal cypher to one side and regimental badge over, ricasso marked with Wilkinson's maker details, hilt with 3-barred guard and wire-bound faux fish-skin grip, brown leather scabbard, blade with rust spots, shrinkage to the grip cover, scabbard frog-strap torn with losses, 41in. overall length
