AN UNUSUAL QEII PATTERN 1897 DRESS SWORD FOR MALAWI BY WILKINSON,
circa 1970s, with 32 1/2in. single-edged blade etched both sides with scrollwork plus the coat-of-arms for Malawi with the bannered Malawian motto 'UNITY AND FREEDOM' under, the ricasso with Royal Appointment and Wilkinson's details to one side and the Wilkinson 'W' in sunburst over, nickelled guard with 'EIIR' and crown Royal cypher, wire-bound fish-skin grip, with its brown leather field scabbard stamped with a Union of South Africa ownership mark below the throat, a little bubbling of the nickel around the sword-knot slot in the guard and some light marks to the leather of the scabbard, 41in. overall length
