circa 1840, with circular body of approx. 2 1/16in. diameter, the screw-off lid engraved with borderlines and rope-twist bands and signed 'S. ALLPORT IMPROVED' and marked 'M', blued screws and spring, suspension loop to rear and tapering 'nose' to the front
