circa 1855, with smoothbore octagonal 9in. barrel, dove-tailed fore-sight, buckhorn rear-sight (probably later), squared patent breech with twin gold lines and platinum plug, fully border and scroll engraved top-tang, border and scroll engraved bar-action lock signed 'COOPER', walnut half-stock (cracked and repaired) with chequered swept grip of Purdey style, flared pommel with moulded and engraved iron butt-cap, single set trigger and moulded horn fore-end tip with no provision for ramrod
