circa 1877, with blued octagonal 7 1/2in. barrel, engraved band at muzzle, blade fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight, borderline engraved frame marked 'TRANTER'S PATENT', exposed spurred hammer, spur trigger, chequered walnut semi saw-handled walnut grip and shallow domed iron grip-cap, fair amount of finish remaining
