dated 1882, with 33 1/4in. barrel with block and blade fore-sight (retaining an original nickel plated combination protector muzzle-cap), elevating ladder rear-sight, receiver bridge marked 'S-X', slab-sided receiver with external cocking indicator on the right face and marked 'N A & A Co. Ld' together with a Victoria crown and 'III' over 'I', left face blank, walnut butt-stock with 'BIRMINGHAM 1893' roundel stamp and smooth butt-cap, walnut full-length fore-end, two iron barrel-bands, nose-cap and original iron clearing-rod, strong amount of finish remaining
