for 1862, with octagonal 4in. barrel signed on two lines 'ADDRESS SAML. COLT' over 'HARTFORD CT.' colour hardened open iron frame (colour faded but much remaining), plain roll engraved six-shot cylinder, brass grip-straps and trigger guard, smooth flared walnut grip, all matching numbers including wedge, in a period case lined in plum velvet (faded to brown), including a possibly original Colt Eagle pocket flask, a brass Colt mould without provision for sprue-cutter, 'L' shaped nipple key and caps
