dated for 1756 but probably re-using an earlier lock, with round slightly swamped 71 1/2in. barrel, the breech-section blended to octagonal, solid squared top-tang, borderline engraved lock of military form with date and signature to the tail and crown over 'G.R.' device below the shallow pan, swan-necked cock, teak half-stock with 'Durs' style dot and checker chequering, brass furniture, horn fore-end tip and probable period wood ramrod
