circa 1865, with well rebrowned octagonal to sixteen-sided to round 36in. barrel, carved and moulded girdle at the intersection, bead fore-sight, scroll engraving and platinum plug to the breech-block, borderline and scroll engraved long top-tang inhabited by a feathered serpent and mounted with a central square white-metal escutcheon, border and scroll engraved bar-action lock signed 'COGSWELL & HARRISON', engraved hammer, substantial chequered walnut half-stock, iron furniture including raised chequered spur to the lower tang, single barrel-key, horn fore-end tip and brass mounted ramrod
