dated for 1857, the fine twist browned octagonal to round 35in. barrel signed on the underside 'LEOPOLD BERNARD' and 'CANONNIER A PARIS', Belgian proofs, bead fore-sight, colour hardened breech-block with engraving and large moulded snail, colour hardened borderline and scroll engraved long top-tang, bar-action lock with colour hardening and borderline and scroll engraving, en-suite hammer, walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist, engraved and blued iron furniture, original ramrod, the whole in fine original condition and appearing little used
